At OLYMTECH, we are committed to ensuring the long-term reliability and performance of our air compressor systems. Proper maintenance before commissioning is essential for machines that have been in storage. 

This guide outlines the required inspection and maintenance procedures for OLYMTECH screw air compressors stored for extended periods.

1. Lubrication System Maintenance

Factory-Filled Oil: All oil-injected screw compressors are filled with lubricating oil before leaving the factory. This oil provides corrosion protection for up to 12 months.

Manual Rotation Procedure (Every 6 Months):

Gear-Driven Compressors: Remove the motor fan cover and manually rotate the motor shaft for several minutes to redistribute lubricant across bearings, rotors, and gears.

Belt-Driven Compressors: Manually turn the belt pulley several times and check/adjust the belt tension as needed  

Oil-Cooled PM Motor Compressors: Remove the rear cover plug and use a wrench to rotate the connecting rod approximately 10 times to renew the protective oil film on internal components.

Oil Supplement: If required, add an appropriate amount of lubricant to the compressor air-end during maintenance.

Frequency: Repeat the rotation procedure every 6 months during storage.

2. Lubricant & Bearing Maintenance Schedule

Every 12 Months: Completely replace the lubricating oil.

Beyond 12 Months: Re-grease motor bearings (excluding maintenance-free or oil-lubricated types) using twice the standard grease quantity.

At 24 Months: Replace all maintenance-free motor bearings.

3. Consumable Parts Inspection & Replacement

Regularly inspect and replace wear parts according to the product manual. Special attention should be given to the three filters:

Air filter

Oil filter

Oil separator element

Recommendation: If the compressor has been stored for more than 1 year, consider replacing all filters before operation.

4. Electrical System Checks

Insulation Resistance Test:

Required if storage exceeds 6 months.

If measured values are abnormal, contact OLYMTECH technical support or your local service representative immediately.

Inverter Maintenance (If Equipped):  

If the inverter has been idle for over 1 year, it must be powered up every 6 months for at least 5 hours each time.

During power-up, use a voltage regulator to gradually increase input voltage to the rated level, or consult OLYMTECH for detailed guidance.

5. Important Notice

Damages resulting from failure to perform the recommended maintenance or from non-standard operations are not covered under the OLYMTECH warranty.
